    Group Description

Fenbendazole 500 mg Tablet is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic medication primarily used to treat parasitic worm infections in animals. It belongs to the benzimidazole class of drugs and is effective against gastrointestinal parasites like roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and certain tapeworms. The 500 mg dosage is typically used in larger animals such as cattle, horses, and dogs, depending on body weight and the severity of the infection.

Fenbendazole works by disrupting the energy metabolism of parasites. Specifically, it binds to the parasite’s microtubules by targeting a protein called beta-tubulin. This binding prevents the formation of microtubules, which are essential for cell division, nutrient absorption, and intracellular transport. Without properly functioning microtubules, the parasite cannot absorb glucose, leading to an energy deficit and eventually death.

Unlike some other dewormers, Fenbendazole works slowly, which allows the host’s immune system to play a role in eliminating the parasites. It is generally well-tolerated and has a wide safety margin when used at recommended doses.

Fenbendazole 500 mg is often administered orally in tablet or bolus form and may require repeated dosing depending on the type of parasite and treatment protocol. Always consult a veterinarian for appropriate use and dosing.
